Where the DNS settings live
- Sign in and open Domains.
- Click Manage on the domain, then the DNS & Nameservers tab.
Adding a record
- Under DNS Records click Add Record, choose the type, fill it in and save.
Editing or deleting a record
- Use the pencil icon on the record, or the bin to delete.
Changing the nameservers
- On the same tab, open Nameservers and pick Custom.
Gotchas at Domain.com
- Free parking/forwarding records are added by default — remove them first.
After you save
DNS changes aren't instant. Resolvers keep the old answer until the previous record's TTL expires, so a record with a 4-hour TTL can take 4 hours to change everywhere. Use the Route Planner's live check to see what the world sees, and the troubleshooting page if it still looks wrong after the TTL has passed.
