How to change DNS records at Gandi

Open the Gandi control panel → Visit Gandi

Where the DNS settings live

  1. Sign in to the Gandi admin and open Domain.
  2. Click the domain, then the DNS Records tab.

Adding a record

  1. Click Add record.
  2. Fill in the name, type, TTL and value, then Create.
  3. Advanced users can switch to edit the zone file and paste BIND-format records directly.

Editing or deleting a record

  1. Use the pencil icon to edit or the bin to delete on each row.

Changing the nameservers

  1. Open the Nameservers tab, choose External, and enter the servers.

Gandi nameservers

These are the values you would set at your registrar to let Gandi run your DNS. Always confirm them in your own account — several providers assign per-account values.

  • ns-1-a.gandi.net
  • ns-2-b.gandi.net
  • ns-3-c.gandi.net

Gotchas at Gandi

  • Gandi keeps zone snapshots — you can roll back a bad change from the DNS Records screen.
  • LiveDNS is the current platform; older accounts may still be on the classic zone system.

After you save

DNS changes are not instant. Resolvers keep the old answer until the previous record's TTL expires, so a record with a 4-hour TTL can take 4 hours to change everywhere — occasionally longer if an ISP ignores TTLs. Check what the world currently sees before assuming something is broken, and see the troubleshooting page if it still looks wrong after the TTL has passed.
