Change DNS records at Bluehost

Where the DNS settings live

1. Sign in to the Bluehost account manager.
2. Open Domains in the left sidebar and click the domain.
3. Choose the DNS tab.

Adding a record

1. Click Add Record in the section for the type you need.
2. Enter the host (@ for the root), the value, and a TTL.
3. Click Add/Save.

Editing or deleting a record

1. Use the Edit button on the record row, change it, then Save.
2. The Delete button on the row removes the record after a confirmation.

Changing the nameservers

1. Open the domain and find Name Servers.
2. Switch from Bluehost default to Custom and enter the new servers.

After you save

DNS changes aren't instant. Resolvers keep the old answer until the previous record's TTL expires, so a record with a 4-hour TTL can take 4 hours to change everywhere. Use the Route Planner's live check to see what the world sees, and the troubleshooting page if it still looks wrong after the TTL has passed.
