Where the DNS settings live
- Sign in and open Domain Management.
- Find the domain and click DNS (or expand the row and choose "Edit" under DNS Records).
Adding a record
- Use the row at the top of the DNS editor.
- Set Type, leave Host blank for the root domain or enter just the subdomain label.
- Enter the Answer (the value) and optionally a TTL.
- Click Add.
Editing or deleting a record
- Click Edit on the record, change the answer, then Save.
- Click Delete on the row to remove it.
Changing the nameservers
- From Domain Management, expand the domain and click NS / Authoritative Nameservers.
- Replace the Porkbun nameservers with your own and save.
Gotchas at Porkbun
- Leaving Host blank means the root domain — Porkbun does not use
@. - New domains get a Porkbun parking page ALIAS record; delete it before pointing elsewhere.
- Porkbun supports ALIAS records, which is a handy way to point a root domain at a hostname.
After you save
DNS changes aren't instant. Resolvers keep the old answer until the previous record's TTL expires, so a record with a 4-hour TTL can take 4 hours to change everywhere. Use the Route Planner's live check to see what the world sees, and the troubleshooting page if it still looks wrong after the TTL has passed.
